Oh, I agree with you on that -- smart article fetching and caching
is going to be necessary to cope with scalability issues regardless
of how effective the social engineering is. My hope is that Usenet II
will provide an experimental laboratory for trying out just those
sorts of technical solutions in the same way that it appears to
be providing a lab for trying out social solutions.

I guess we'll all have to wait and see how it plays out.
