Karen Got an e-mail today complementing her on her FAQ and asking in
effect what parts that she whould be willing to let this folk copy for a
commercial site.

Said site has a vanity domain name, related to the topic of the FAQ.

My first answer was that she should just tell this organization that she
would be delighted if they were to create a link to her site, and
offering to also provide them with the address of the mirror that I run
on my web space at this ISP (hers is at another local ISP).

The principal of usenet has been "free distribution" and so it is
perfectly ok for them to archive the usenet posting (get ready
news-answers we are going to try to get appoval for resumption of posting
to news answers for the rec-skate faq- now renamed)... But mirroring a
web site without permission is out of the question.. (but linking AFAIK
is by the design of the web fair game)

This has prompted karen to decide to declare my Mirror as an "approved"
mirror in her copyright, and to specificaly disallow other web site mirrors

The "case law" get deeper - what say ye judges... Please copy karen at
the kbryden@lois.dgim.doc.ca or at karen@cyberus.ca as she is the one who
gets e-mail during the day.
