Those of you using Mac-based systems can download a shareware program
called HTML Markdown 2.0. It's an html stripper; takes your html document
and converts a copy into .txt, and it recognizes <UL>, <LI> and <BR> so
it indents things appropriately. In addition, it has a feature called
"URL Spitter" so in another text file, you get a list of all your URLs.
This way, you can 1) check to make sure your links and URLs are correct,
2) copy and paste in the URLs into your text file if you want to (but at
least you have the option).

I recommend it highly.
