Thank heaven for a post about something other than line lengths.

I don't know whether this is a viable solution for Lars, but what I do
is keep the source document in HTML. I then pipe it through a filter
to change some of the HTML stuff before saving it from a browser as
ASCII text. I attach the filter which I use on a UNIX system. To see
it in action, view the HTML source of my FAQ on my WWW Ambisonic page.

I use the Mosaic browser to save the ASCII text because this allows
control of the line length (oh no, not the line length!) - you simply
adjust the width of the browser window before saving. Mosaic also
allows you to create formatted text which I prefer to Netscape's
unformatted text. I use the Netscape browser to save in PostScript
as it is much superior to Mosaic's PostScript. Many, many people
print out FAQs, so I believe it is worthwhile to offer a PostScript
version via anonymous FTP.

Have fun,
Martin
