You have a point.

I would point out that you're assuming that newsgroup splitting
is perfect - that it will match the needs of _all_ messages. It won't.
If, say, I wanted to post something on (inoffensive) comparisons between
AD&D, GURPS, and other RPGs, I'd probably want to crosspost it between
rec.games.frp.add (or whatever the precise spelling is), rec.games.frp.gurps,
and rec.games.frp.misc at the minimum. This fact doesn't mean that that
splitup shouldn't have been done; most messages can indeed be classified
into one of those groups. But some can't.

I have considered whether or not I want to bother posting the FAQ
I've been working on so long to Usenet. I believe I will, ultimately, and
that I'll do it in such a way that it does get read - that's the point,
after all. If that requires posting it every 3 days because it's
crossposted to talk.politics.misc and ISPs have ridiculous expiration
policies, that will be annoying but I'll do it.
