Isn't the news.answers FAQ also cross-posted to the other
<root>.answers newsgroups?

I definitely agree that we should only include "official" FAQs
(as posted to news.answers) in our discussions with news admins
at various sites (although we could parenthetically mention other
useful periodic postings that might likewise be affected), and that
we should make them aware of the already pre-existing problems
created by some sites, and some of the policies of which we have
heard rumours of, and of course, their consequences as well.

I would like to encourage that explicit mention be made of
the side-effects of the anti-crossposting policies known to exist
or apparently under consideration, especially with regards to the
resulting consequences if the result is that FAQ Maintainers start
having to post *much* more frequently and/or post individually to
each newsgroup, instead of a proper cross-post.

Clearly, cross-posting is a Good Thing (tm), but you can have
too much of even a good thing. We need to encourage them to take a
more reasonable approach to the problem, lest they make the problem
that they're trying to solve worse than it already is.
