There are currently 2513 postings listed in the LoPIP, representing
many more actual articles, since one "posting" may have many parts.
The newsgroups-per-posting breakdown (including all *.answers
newsgroups where applicable) is as follows:

less often than 6 mo. 10 <1%
irregular or as needed 76 3%
unknown 343 14% (Tsk!)
Also, the requirement to cross-post to multiple *.answers newsgroups
where appropriate is part of the charter, not arbitrarily applied by
the moderators. We're flexible, but any proposal to significantly
change the process or requirements will have to go through formal
approval.
