"Backlong" is a particularly apt term. For new submissions sent
through the news-answers-submit@mit.edu auto-checker, final approval
is taking about a month. Submissions sent directly to the moderators
are taking 8-10 weeks. This is, we agree, far longer than it should
be. We're working on adding more moderators to help the situation.
