So what? The number of groups needed to be plastered with one and the

No, it is not. And please, if you must troll at least try avoiding
trivial blunders like calling a kB humungous newsgroup list "targeted
audience"! Moreover, if you want to nitpick over arithmetic you might
want to check out what exactly you're talking about - the consensus
criterion employed by Chris still allows mutli-crossposting to hundreds
and hundreds of groups!

Compare: indiscriminate locking thieves off your property is no solution
- - it is just leading to the great Break-In War. Right.
Indiscriminate multiposting is most clearly not only not a solution, but
the effective death of Usenet (yeah, MPEG at 11 ;-() by complete
suffocation. If you so dearly wish to browse thru the dreck clewis and
others clean up, they are still available all over the place - just get a
feed from a provider who does not honor spam-cancels, but quit trying to
convince us that we should be fending for our own and continue paying for
the terabytes of news-crap you find acceptable.
