I think the best thing to do would be to instruct those web page maintainers
in how to correctly list attributions, copyright statements, and official
corporate home page links, in a courteous and non-threatening manner:
detente instead of deterrence. This would maintain the good will of those
people who are enthusiastically providing your company's product with free
advertising. Crushing the efforts of fans will likely result in an unfortunate
backlash that will only serve to hurt the company and its products (that is,
if they care what people on the net are saying about them).
