Reporters and columnists for the _New York Times_ accept
payment for their work. Does that damage their objectivity
and credibility?

On the contrary, their professional credentials are
enhanced.

I believe Lani would lose her objectivity or credibility
only by refusing payment. The advice to "take the money and
run" gives a good outcome for a bad reason. Lani should take
the payment and be proud. She did a professional job, and she
has earned her fee.

We have much to learn from her.
