No. One of the main reasons for this restriction is that we don't
want the faq-server to become a general email-to-news gateway. As it
is now, we maintain some control over what gets posted from there,
which greatly eases the administrative burden and helps prevent us
from being held liable for harrassing, spammy or illegal postings
which might be sent through it.
I realize that there are other ways around this, but for the moment
it's not at the top of our priority list. Just for reference, at the
moment my own personal *.answers-related "to-do" list looks something
like this:
- add a few more moderators
- shorten the message queue to under two weeks, preferably less
- install and test a setup to allow approved multi-part postings to
add parts without needing separate approval
- perform long-overdue archive maintenance
- fix a rarely seen bug in the faq-server's order/reorder commands
- fix a problem in the post_faq installation files which shows up
under Solaris
Thank you for your support and patience.
