First: the main goal of the news.answers project was to make
archiving (and accessing) of usenet faqs (pip's) easier.
If there is no need for an archive, there is no need for news.answers.

Utrecht keeps an independent news.answers ftp-archive,
this is the core activity and 90% of the work.
We put the stuff on WWW to increase faq readership and for the exercise.

Utrecht doesn't do formatting. We just 'activate' urls.
Faqs are straight, 100% intact.

A single list ??
Utrecht adds the structure given by the archive-name and newsgroup
hierarchies, and there are some links gathered from the Url:-line.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Search tools now try to cover the whole net, and do so very well.
I don't know if this will last, or if there will be a place for
smaller archives. We'll see.

The purpose of the Utrecht archive is to make it usable as a collection.
That is why we try to make it easy to jump around.
It is not our goal to 'improve' the faqs.
Conclusion: an archive should treat 'internal' links to faqs
and links to 'official' www versions as equal as possible.
The proposal to extend the usage of Url:-lines makes that easier.
