For my basic understanding it is more simple to check on the header line
"URL" what to do instead of deciding on every new and unknown header line
whether it may be ignored or contains some useful information. That's why I
like the URL: approach better.

I prefer to include the URL within <,> since this may work as well when a
line gets wrapped. Working on a platform where blanks may occur frequently
within file names (Mac), that's another plus for including <> and/or using
quotation marks around the description. I see enough flexibility to use

URL: ftp://site.com/path/file my description
URL: <ftp://site.com/path/file name> my description
URL: ftp://site.com/path/file name "my description"
URL: <URL:ftp://site.com/path/file name> my description

I can't imagine a list of standard URL auxiliary headers. What should I use for
my set of FAQs:
- plain text on FAQ site
- html text on FAQ site
- plain text on local site
- html text on local site
- formatted text on local site
- compressed documents
- helpers / examples / extensions / tools

Examples: My FAQs on a database are kept within a template of this database.
URL:
faq/faq.html>
"FAQ site (monthly updated)"
URL: <ftp://ftp.th-darmstadt.de//pub/database/filemaker-pro/[FAQ] FileMaker
Pro>
"plain text on home site (very recent)"
URL: <ftp://ftp.th-darmstadt.de//pub/database/filemaker-pro/faq.fm.sit.hqx>
"FAQs as template for FileMaker Pro (compressed, most recent)"

Martin
