More importantly, what are we as a group going to do about the fact
that half the Web universe has pointers to various FAQs at OSU?
We can't even replace those copies with pointers to newer versions,
if the updating daemon has died :-(.

Start a rumor in your favorite NewsGroup or GossipWebPage about how
all the major houses have been scooped by Utrecht, which has the
primary source location for FAQs annotated right...

Is there any chance of leaning on the powers that be at OSU to
get that archive supported again? If not, I think pressuring them
to *delete* it would be a lot better than letting it sit there and
get more and more out of date. At least that way, people would
realize their links were obsolete.

It is very hard to get those with too little resources to clean up.
Consider W3.ORG.

But there are lots of popular sites that are keen to have the latest
scoop on what is Jivin' with Java etc. I think that you can get ORA
and their ilk to remove references to OSU easier than you can get the
uncollected garbage removed from Columbus. [Can you tell I lived
in NYC once?...]
