Yes, well, but. By the same token, a burglar could claim that he
"adds value" to the hot merchandise which is available at your
friendly neighborhood shady pawnshop, by relieving you of the
necessity of breaking into someone's house and grabbing it
yourself.

(The analogy breaks down, of course, because in the case of
information resources available on the net, the end user is
supposed and encouraged to go grab things for himself.)

My point is that just because somebody works hard at something,
they don't automatically deserve compensation for it, especially
if it was wrong or illegal.
