Our faq started off with e-mail-only availability, so I
got used to the idea rather early, but I understand the frustration,
as people join our digest list from systems that apparently
truncate or fail to deliver messages once they hit a certain size,
and expect to be able to get some digest or FAQ-part chopped up into
baby-size pieces and delivered with a smile.
I decided long ago that whining at my terminal didn't get the
information delivered, nor did it cut down on the noise in
my mail box.
I decided on the tasks I would and would not do (e.g., I'll offer
it via email, I WON'T chop up these things because somebody
else has joined a fucked-up provider.) and stuck to it. I no
longer found answering the requests a burden, and it certainly
consumed a smaller proportion of my leisure on-line time.

But if _this_ problem is licked, something else will cause
email requests for it to come your way, and yes, sometimes it's
idiocy, but that's not the world's greatest crime.
You have seen the future, and it's a pain in the ass. :)
