About eight months ago, at a previous job, I made the mistake of
letting my personal account (this one) be listed as an online contact in
the media-list maintained by <adamg@world.std.com>. Since the list's
header mentions that it is not meant for press releases, I figured that'd
be okay.
I've now been off the list for three or four months, and am still
receiving at least one press release a week. I think some of it may be
due to my maintaining the alt.internet.media-coverage FAQ, so I've now
taken to sending that FAQ to anybody who sends me a press release.
Other'n that, I'd suggest just politely asking that you be taken
off their mailing list, stating that you are not interested. If it
continues, contact their postmaster or administrative contact.
