I certainly won't try to stop you sending it (free speech and all that and
I'm intrigued to see what kind of response it gets myself). But you
should make it crystal clear that the letter represents the views of ONLY
the people signing it and not the list as a whole. I don't think you or
anyone who signed this letter can claim to speak for all FAQ authors or
even a sizeable fraction of FAQ authors. The flame war on this list a
while ago is certainly evidence that you don't.
