Aside from trademarking "FAQ" or cancelling such articles (neither of
which I predict would go over very well with the net.community) there is
very little you can do to discourage them.

You could post a followup article saying "The preceding was a commercial
advertisement..." every time the fake FAQ is posted. *Or* you could
assume that if you were smart enough to recognize that it was a "shameless
plug," then other readers of the newsgroup would also recognize it.
