In the recently-unveiled U.S. 'net magazine NetGuide (not
affiliated with the books, though they liscense the name), it reports that
a company called Walnut Creek has released a CD-ROM entitled Internet Info
which they say contains more than 12,000 documents about the 'net.
This includes FAQs "...for hundreds of newsgroups (everything from
alt.angst to alt.buddha.short.fat.guy)...", RFC's, FTP site lists, and
"archives of Usenet technical discussions about topics such as Unix and
the PowerPC." (All quotes from NetGuide.)
I'm mentioning it because it wouldn't surprise me a bit if they
did /not/ ask for permission from every FAQ maintainer, RFC drafter, and
participant in those technical discussions.
The magazine mentions that the CD-ROM costs $39.95, and that
Walnut Creek can be contacted at 510-674-0783.
