There's another reason: gateways to other kinds of computer networks.
The de.rec.fahrrad FAQ has been adopted by the German Mausnet and gets
also forwarded to Fido, and the gates max out at 30k and 50k, respectively.

I split my FAQ at chapter boundaries, and think it made it rather easier
to handle.
