Including Internet addresses in FAQs

Folks,

I've been including IP addresses in my FAQ, but it's a hassle to
keep them up to date. An automatic message from rtfm.mit.edu told
me about an old IP address and added the following:

> We discourage the use of IP addresses in referring
> to services, but if you must continue to use an IP address, please ...

Ten years ago, I would have personally found the IP addresses useful
(like if the host table was out of date), but with almost 100%
compliance (anyone know the actual number?), the nameserver renders
having to use IP addresses obsolete.

Before I take the IP addresses out of my FAQ, I'd like to hear some
debate. Who feels strongly either way? Are the IP addresses useful
at all? Or should they be trashed and burned?
