I think the idea of a union or organization dedicated to the advance of
FAQ maintainer interests is an *outstanding* idea. It seems to me that
FAQs in many ways epitomize what the future of cyberspace and
publishing will be like: anyone can create a collection of information,
archive it, distribute it, protect it from misuse, and even potentially
profit from it. (the profit angle is going to be *intensely*
predominant and important over the next few years, I predict.)

So, usually the best thing to do is to start a new mailing list.
Unfortunately I don't have the resources to do this, but maybe someone
else can investigate the possibility on a system they know about. If
nothing happens after awhile I will try to do something myself.

It seems to me the charter of this mailing list isn't all that well
defined itself, I suggest that J.Kamens write one and periodically post
it. Virtually any topic that is brought up, it seems, quickly leads to
flames and a lot of people unsubscribing. A charter would help
differentiate it from other related lists, too.
