I'm of the opinion that since the point of a FAQ is to distribute information,
that information will be equally useful distributed as bound/printed matter
or as online information. I had some concerns about the currency of info
for a published book, but since it's an annual, I don't worry about that
(as much).

To the initial poster: I'm not aware of what FAQ you maintain, but it
could be that they're actually working on something related to the field
of the FAQ, and view it as good and useful information. However, with your
pecuniary interest in the FAQ, one might start a debate about using the
'net for commercial purposes. You should watch carefully that when your
book gets published that you don't start pushing it in the FAQ, nor that
you let the FAQ "die" because the book "covers it all".
