Not necessarily. They might be experts on the subject of the
newsgroup's charter, but not necessarily about the technical aspects
of posting a FAQ. Perfect example--the woman who writes the Body
Piercing FAQ is a professional body piercer who is very articulate,
and has considerable amounts of knowledge about the subject. But she's
not a "techie" who is comfortable with following proper formatting,
etc.--it took me well over a year to get her to finally work up to
getting news.answers approval (and then only when I helped her with a
major format overhaul). She's still not comfortable with it, but does
it to help the r.a.b. community.
Remember that there are many non-computer related newsgroups where the
FAQs may be written by a non-computer type.
