In response to some complaints we had regarding the discussion
messages which were "leaking" onto faq-maintainers-announce due to
people not doing the right things with the headers, and/or other
people's software not doing the right things with the headers, we have
made the faq-maintainers-announce mailing list "moderated".

The mailing lists policy document which is sent to all new subscribers
and periodically to all subscribers has been updated accordingly.
Effectively, there is virtually no change in procedures. If you have
an announcement pertaining to people who maintain FAQ's, you still
send your message to faq-maintainers-announce@MIT.EDU, and we'll take
care of the rest.

Those of you subscribed to the faq-maintainers mailing list instead of
faq-maintainers-announce will continue to receive announce messages,
as evidenced by this email in your inbox.

Ping Huang, one of the faq-maintainers* list owners
(faq-maintainers-request@MIT.EDU)

P.S. A clarification to those on the faq-maintainers-announce mailing
list only: about 3 weeks ago, there was some email which was sent to
the announce mailing list discussing the possibility of adding various
kinds of specific copyrights to FAQ's. The *.answers moderators wish
to make clear that they have *NO* intention whatsoever of requiring
FAQ maintainers (who wish to cross-post to *.answers or just have
their postings archived on rtfm.mit.edu) to adopt any specific
copyright statements on their work.
