I don't own a CD-ROM and have no interest in owning one.
Now, if they were offering me a 33 1/3 vinyl-ROM, we could
talk.

As for the drooling BBS newbies, I frankly could go either
way. I have little faith in the idea that any of them will
bother to read my FAQ and thus learn that I do not keep a
repository of pornographic GIFs for their disposal, or that
I am not disposed to mailing out stories on request. I find
it more likely that those who were not previously aware of
the existence of rec.arts.erotica will now be made aware of
it, and rush off to write to ask for the aforementioned
pornographic GIFs or stories-on-demand.

I have no objection whatsoever with anyone making money off
"my precious document," and in fact I'm frankly surprised
that they bothered to include the rec.arts.erotica FAQ in
their distribution. I'm concerned with it being used to
poorly serve an audience it was never meant for, and I'm
concerned about people not bothering to follow a reasonable
facsimile of procedure in preparing this CD-ROM. It bothers
me a great deal that more FAQ maintainers aren't upset about
these last points -- fuck money.
