I believe this is all RFC822 and 1153-compliant. 1) It would be bad to be
more restrictive than existing RFCs. 2) The SGI FAQs, anyway, have Subject:
continuation lines where necessary with leading whitespace and a Date:
line. Can we keep 'em?

Nit: shouldn't any whitespace do? For that matter, isn't a colon enough?
