Michael, relax.

I believe the first paragraph of Guido's message made it quite clear
that he was trying to submit an FAQ to *.answers. His sending of the
FAQ to the entire faq-maintainers list was a simple mistake;
certainly, it wasn't anything to scream about.

I don't see why you had to "wade through a 600-line document," since,
as I said, the first paragraph made it pretty clear what was going on.

In any case, please keep in mind that there *are* maintainers of this
mailing list, and if we think something inappropriate is sent to it,
we'll act on it. If you think something is inappropriate, please
contact US about it, by sending mail to faq-maintainers-request,
rather than by sending mail to the entire list.

This is a good opportunity to unveil the faq-maintainers and
faq-maintainers-announce policy document that we've been working on.
Ping Huang wrote the first revision of it, and the other *.answers
moderators have made some minor revisions. I'll send it out in my
next message. We intend to soon start sending the policy document
periodically (e.g., monthly or perhaps every two months) to both
faq-maintainers and faq-maintainers-announce, and to send it to every
new subscriber to the lists.
