PERU/STARTED ONULYUT ISARTIAL SUCCESS. THE WHITE COLLAR WORKERS, THE PEASANTS, AND ONE OF THE OIL WORKERS FEDERATIONS ARE STRIKING, AS ARE THE SUGAR WORKERS, SOME DEPARTMENTAL FEDERATIONS, AND LOCAL UNIONS IN THE NORTH. THE MILITARY JUNTA ANNOUNCED THAT NINETY TWO LABOR ORGANIZATIONS HAVE REJECTED THE STRIKE WHILE SAYING THAT THE GOVERNMENT WOULD RESPECT THE FREEDOM OF LABOR IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY. IT APPEARS THAT MANY CTP AFFILIATES, AND PRACTICALLY ALL OF THE UNIONS NOT AFFILIATED, HAVE REFUSED TO STRIKE.
