Ethnic Minority Insurgency

The Kachin Independence Armyperating with current estimated strengthn the My it kins. District, has reportedly increased its propaganda and insurgent activities by attacking military and civilian traffic in the District to obtain funds, supplies and weapons. This reporturrentotal strengthess than half of whom are believed armed, and dispersed throughout tbe Myitkina and Bhamo Districts and the Northern Shan States.

No significant changes have been reported in the activities of other insurgent groups operating in Burma during the reporting period.
