ON "THEHEN ASKED THE FOLLOWING MOWING REGARDING THE APPARENT ^CHANGE IN PLAN, HE MERELY SHRUGGED OFF THE QUESTION.

It. f^ COMMENT I AN AMERICAN OBSERVER WHO VlSITEO THE SCENE OFINUTES AFTER SHOOTING HAD BEEN REPORTED, NOTED THAT ALL WAS QUIET. THE SCENE OF THE SHOOTING IS ON THE CORNER OF ONE OF THE BUSIEST INTERSECTION IN VIENTIANE. MANY PERSONS IN THE AREA NO MOREARDS AWAY FROM THE SCENE- REPORTED HEARING TWO QUICK BURSTS OF AUTOMATIC FIRE, BUT THEY OBSERVED NO LJNUSUAL ACTIVITY. TRAFFIC, BOTH PEDESTRIAN AND VEHICULAR, CONTINUED NORMAL. GUARDS AT THE HOUSE WHERE THE SHOOTING OCCURRED WERE DOUBLED SHORTLY AFTER THE FIRING WAS HEARD. EVERYONE IN THE AREA SEEMED TOUARD HAD FIRED-AT AN IMAGINEARY INTRUDER. THE AREA WAS KEPT UNDER SURVEILLANCE UNTIL0 HOURSPRIL- NO CARS MOVED IN OR OUT OF THE YARD OF THE HOUSE WHERE THE SHOOTING OCCURRED. WE CONCLUDE THAT QUINIM WAS PROBABLY SHOT INSIDE THE HOUSE.
