Congo: President Kasavubu appears to be leaning toward naming Moise Tshombe to head the transitional government.

j Kasavubu declined to say whom he would name, but said that Adoula had "outlived hise added that Adoula would have no post In thegovernment but would be kept in reserve until after next year's elections.

The President said he had received TshomWs report on his consultations with political party leaders and would make his decision in the "next day or two."

Kasavubu said that if Tshombe* could succeed in bringing peace to the country "so much thef not, "the country would at least know hise added that if Tshombe* were kept busy in some capacity in Leopoldville the former Katangan leader would "become purged" of any remaining secessionist ideas.
