SUMMARY

OnCAO VANG Division shelled, attacked and dislodged. battalions garrisoned on XUAN SON strategic hill, HOAI AN District, BINH DIUH Province, SVN. . soldiers were taken prisoner and taken to LONG HOA Village, AN LOA District, BINH DINH Province, where they were detained in people's houses. Later they were sent to the SAO VANG Division, then to Militarynd finally to NVN where they would be detained for possible exchange after the,armistice. The VC policy regarding POWs stated that. soldier could be exchanged for ten VC soldiers; and for one. officer pilot,. had to compensate NVNactory.

During the battle. Regimentaptured. soldiers of. First Air Cavalry Division; none of the prisoners were wounded. Later,r prisoners were 'conducted to LONG HOA Village (coordinatesN LAO District, 'BINH DINH Province, to be temporarily detained for four days in the people's houses.

Since this was the first time Regimentad. soldiers, the Regiment's fUild_grade Political Officer, Major LOG, ordered-his subordinate units to study the proaalyting .policy regarding JOWs. This policy mentioned that. soldier could be exchanged for ten VC soldiers;
