The Lao Communists havetatement In Vientiane acknowledging that they hold anprisoner. The prisoner is not identified but almost certainly is Emmett Kay, the civilian pilot of the US contract aircraft shot down in northern Laosay. The atatement does not acknowledge Kay'a civilian status, but alleges instead that he ia an "American military person" who waslight to direct "groups of cotmnando/bandlta" in Communiat controlled territory.
