He traveled, not. pass port, but on an identity card proclaiming. He entered. Army Air Corps in World War II, was shot down onh mission over Germany andrisoner of war foronths. He was honorably separated with the rank of Captain. long with several. citizens who were war veterans, he entered the Cuban police force, where his bilingual abilities soon brought him advancement.
