As you know, the Executive Branch has been unable to reconcile its records of classified documents provided to the House Select Corrmittee on Intelligence with the inventory of Select Committee documents now stored at CIA Headquarters in sealed cartons. This was Indicated to Chairman Pike in my letter ofopy of which was sent to you. m hopeful that these unaccounted for documents may be found byage-by-page inventory of the documents contained in these sealed cartons. In accordance, however, with the agreement reached with Chairman Pike, these cartons can only be opened in the presence of an authorizedof your office.
