United States citizen Richard Newnan and Gnateiialan Carlos Tejada, administrative officer and director of the Central America and Panaaa Nutrition Instituteespectively, were abducted the morning ofune fro* INCAP headquarters in Guatemala City. The letters describe three ransom terms for the release of the hostages. First, two PRTC communiques are to be published, one on abasis and the other at the Central Anerican. level. Little is known about the activities and nakcup of the PRTC in Guatemala. Occasionally PRTC graffitti appear on

walls of buildings in Guatemala City. Neighboring El Salvador has an active terrorist organization also known as the PRTC. According to Salvjdoran press reports the PRTC claiaed responsibility for the arned attack during April against the Guatemalan Ambassador to El Salvador in retaliation for the death of one its acatbers killed in Guatenala.
