Soviet Reaction

Moscow is likely to reserve judgment until theof leading party officials is completed and it has had time to study the composition of the new leadership. While regretting the departure of conservative friends like Deputy Premier Jagielski, the Soviets may take some consolation from the reelection of Olszowski and the defeat of Fiszbach and other liberals. fjm

Meanwhile, the head of the Soviet delegation to the congress, Viktor Grishln, appears to have become more cautious in expressing support for the Polish party. In speechea on Thursday and yesterday, he omitted anyof confidence similar to the one he made two days earlier about the ability of the Polish Communists to solve their problems. Instead, Grishln asserted that it was up to the Polish workers to rebuff the enemies of socialism.
