USSR-POLAND: New Signs of Soviet Concern

psrty secretory Rusakov, who is responsible forwith the East European countries, yesterdayfriendly working visit* to pol.irvi. His trip coincided with the appearance in Prtodaengthy article accusing the US of using Radio Free Europe broadcasts to aggravate the situation in Poland. Tho Polish news agency hasa "full convergence of views" between Rusakov and the Foreign Minister, but not with Premier Jaruzelski, on bilateral relations,

Comment: Rusakov's purpose probably is toirsthand assessment of the situation and toontinued tough response. The Polish agency report suggests that he is more satisfied with Poland'sof its foreign affairs than with the handling of the recent disturbances. The Praoda article appears slmed at diverting attention from the internal causes of the recent Polish disturbances and perhaps atWest German sentiment against Radio PreeEuropehreat to peaceful East-West relations.
