5 Special Agent (SA> "Jay" Aldhizer, FBI Liaison, advised that on the evening ofhe FBI arrested John Anthony Walker, Jr., in Maryland on charges of espionage for the Soviet Union. Walkeretired Navy warrant officer and currently is employedrivate investigator in the Norfolk, Virginia, area. The FBI confiscatedlassified documents from Walker at the time of the arrest, the majority of which were Navy and Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) communications. Relative to Walker's possession of the classified documents, the FBI is anticipating additional arrests in the near future and is presently trying to hold the lid on any publicity. According to the FBI, Walker's son is presently serving aboard the USS Ninlts.
