Los Angeles,
Dear Mr. Day:
In his front page article onecember entitled 'President Orders Lie DetectorrvToth claims that Mill Ian Casey "refused on principle" toe detector test when he became Director of Central Intelligenceut that he later did so. If Mr. Toth had checked his facts with the Agency, he would have learned that Mr. Casejr. never refused toolygraph examination. In fact, when appointed Director he believed he had an obligation to undergo the examination promptly and he did so.
Director, Public Affairs
Sincerely,
Original document.
