* The Permanent Select Cfcanlttee on Intelligence has been asked to look into allegations that Kurt Waldheim, the former Secretary General of the United Nations, was associated with war crimes against Jews, Serbs and gypsies in Croatia during the second World War.

The Committee has seen allegations to this effect in news reports but has no knowledge of whether these accusations are accurate. sk that you provide the Committeeesponse to the following three questionst

Does the intelligence coaasuty have any information which bears on the accusations against Mr. Waldhein?

Did the intelligence community everequest from any other department or agency of the United States Government requesting information about Mr. Waldheim prior to his selection as Secretary General of the United Nations?

Did the intelligence community ever provide any information cccvjerning Mr. Waldheim to any department or aqency of theStates concerning Mr. Waldheim?
