CONSIDERATION OT THE MUTUAL ADVANTAGES ACCRUING TO BOTH PARTIES ITACSEED BETWEEN. JOINT PUBLICATIONS RESEARCHTESHEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS THE GOVERNMENTHEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS THE CONTRACTOR, AS FOLLOWS:
Government engages the contractor toeries of taski during
the period beginning ai_ an4 ondlng
and the contractor agrees to undertake such tasks aa are assigned to the contractor by designated representatives of the Government during said period of tine.
Services rendered by the contractor hereunder are dellolted by theapacity and relationship to the Government as an Independent contractor. In no sense does such status qualify said contractor for any benefits normallyto an employee relationship.
The Government will compensate the contractor In conformance with the schedule here attached and herein made, by specific reference, as an integral port of this agreement.
To effect payment hereunder the contractor will submit stateaents setting forth both the specific task performed and the charge therefor.
3. The contractor herein assumes personal responsibility to report, underFederal, state end self-employment (Social Security) tax laws and regulations all such income aa Is obtained in performance of this agreement. The contractor further agrees to determine if local Jurisdictional laws require said contractor, as an Individual engagedusiness, tousiness license andicensing tax, as may be required.
As the contractor's services are regarded aa unique, said contractor shall have no right to transfer or assign any rights under this contract.
From time to time the contractor shall assume the custody of Government property. The contractor herein agrees to execute whatever documents may beto protect the Government's interest in sach property.
3. This contract shall terminate before the explrstion of the term asset forth uponays' actual written notice by either party.
9. where termination notice has not been given, then, subject to theof appropriations, this agreement shall be automatically renewed for successiveperiods.
