I have communicated several times with your predecessors in an effort to resolve some of the questions raised by the Kurt Waldheim case. Please refer to my letters of0nd

I must confessemain perplexed by various aspects of this business. For instance, when they answered0 query, did CIA personnel have access to the WAST file, the Wehrmacht files archived in West Berlin? nderstand that these filesocument referring to Waldheim's military service in the Balkans. urther understand that copies of this document had been acquired by private individuals well before0 query to you. How was it that CIA0 was unaware ofotentially valuable trove of documentation?

Furthermore, did CIA examine documents from the Berlin Documents Center anytime prior If so,o conclude that there Is nothing in this collection pertaining to Waldheim? What additional sources were consulted inesponse to my initial inquiry

U.S. Array intelligence apparently interrogated Waldheim at Bad Toll in Bavaria in Hay or early Was OSS present or in any other way involved during this interrogation? Why was Waldheim selected for questioning on this occasion? What agency currently has custody of the file of that interrogation, and has CIA consulted it? If not, would you not agree that CIA's failure to do ao,an with Waldheim's prominence,urious oversight?
