[Text] The Cardcen-Bell helicopter has been designed exclusively to serveivilian multipurpose aircraft. This was stated by Raul Montecino. public relations chief of Cardoen Industries. He was referring to reports from European newspapers that connected the death of British journalise (Jonathan Miles) in Santiago to the development of helicopter gunships In Chile.

Montecino said thatL helicopter is undergoing technical inspectionortnited States,ederal organization. The aircraft could not undergo this inspection if itombat aircraft, since the Kennedy Amendment, thus forbids so.

(Montecino] Any means of transportation could have military applications, depending on what you want it for. However, the Cardoen-Bell helicopter has been designed exclusivelyultipurpose civilian aircraft.

The Cardoen Industry spokesman denied that his company isalks with other countries to sellL helicopter for combat purposes. He added that the company is waiting to finish building a

prototype to carry out marketing studies. It is thought that once in the market, the Cardoen-Bell helicopter will5 million, one third ofimilar aircraft would cost if it were built In other countries, for example the FRO. The clients for this helicopter will mainly be third-world countries. He reiterated that cardoen has not tried to offer the helicopter to Iraq.

?. When asked about the relation between Cardoen Industries and British journalist (Jonathan Miles) who was found hanged tn his room at the Carrera Hotel onarch, Montecinos answered that relations with him were the same as with other journalists.
