Energy Projects in Yugoslavia

Reference is made to your communication ofU to the members of the Joint Atomic Energy Intelligence Committee on the subject of atomic energy projects in Yugoslavia,

This matter was discussed at the meeting of the JAEIC onh. It was there agreed that none of the agencies represented had any information which wouldonclusion that the Yugoslavs haverogram to produce atomic weapons. On the contrary, all available information points to basic nuclear research as being carried outery limited extent in Yugoslavia. There is no evidence which indicates that sufficient raw materials, technical skill or money aro available to the Yugoslavs to carry out an atomic energy programcale required for production of weapons. This reply has been coordinated in JAEIC.
