Sanctions Against Guatemala

It is requested that this office bo provided with an analysis of economic sanctions that might conceivably be placed against Guatemala by tho U. S. alone or in concert with other Latin American countriesiew to determining the maximum effect and possible timing of such sanctions if they should become necessary. Possible Guatemalan counter action should be considered in the analysis.

A part of this analysis shouldtatement of currently existing official and unofficial sanctions, prohibitions, boycotts, etc.

It is not unlikely that other government agencies may have engaged intudy or some similar studies, and any such studies found or used for basic material should be clearly referenced.
