it is common knowledge that for many years. administration has been using the hia issue as one of the conditions for normalizing relations with vietnam, and many opportunists have been capitalizing on the same issue against vietnam and made profit in utter disregard of the pride of many mia american families. they tried to publicize the mia issueet of photos taken from an old soviet roegazine, and most recently, the allegation of one former kgb official to the effect that his colleague had interviewed some cia agents captured during the war in vietnam and these agents are being held by hanoi. .text:

. government official after an investigation. this

official noted that so far. there has been no evidence to

conclude that any prisoner of war is being detained by

pokesman for. state department on

tuesday, anuary, said that the united states has

decided to put an end to investigation into report that

american prisoners of war are being held in the former

soviet union. the same spokesman said: investigation

carried out in kazakhstan fromoroduced no evidence

of american prisoners of war detention, and therefore, the state

department will not continue investigating until new evidence appears. this is

move conforming to reason and human conscience. broad section of american public has supported this law and recommended that the paranoid about american personnel missing in action should beext:

advocating friendship with all countries irrespective of

development.
